Description

The first goal of this course is to give the participants a clear understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the peripheral nerves, including keys to improve their comprehension of the basis of surgical treatment. Nerve repair and nerve regeneration will be described, allowing then the participants to put this knowledge into practice in the lab, working on an animal model. . Another focus will be made during this course on microvascular repair and the participants will learn to practice various types of microvascular reconstruction on the rat in the microlab.

According to our program the following units are foreseen:

  • Nerve physiology
  • Primary Nerve Repair
  • Secondary Nerve Reconstruction
  • Arterial repair and Reconstruction

Participants and speakers will arrive the evening before for dinner so they can start early the next morning.
